For those who are not musicians, that means, taking time to write music, learn new things….I am in the wood-shed for a while, so you may not see me playing gigs at present. My mission is to compose new music with a message that reaches people and that matters to listeners.
Come hear this wonderful jazz artist. If you are in Sacramento it is well worth the trip to Auburn, where you can enjoy dinner before the show, in one of the many fine spots in old town, such as Bootleggers. Old Town Pizza or Meat & Potatoes… Call me for details at 530-210-8348. If you would like to feature the event in your publication or website let me know and I can share the story of the birth of SONGWRITERS in KIND, a brand new showcase for artists who want to spread the love through music and just maybe change the world along the way.

The August show was great fun, if you missed it here is your chance to come, and if you were there, come again — I have new original songs I am just finishing…and I always mix up the list of cover tunes as well. Visit this link for info on the venue: Meat and Potatoes
Here is a sample of some new songs I am working on…the music is yet to be recorded, but here are partial lyrics. You can hear these songs at any of my gigs. (See “schedule” for dates)
Traveling Around in Time
Traveling Around in Time, ageless time, in confidence of one single mind,
It’s only what I feel
It’s not a wrinkle in the skin, only a thought within
It’s only a belief, that sets up what I see
And what I’m going to see, again
Think Out of the Head
They say, think out of the box
So awfully dead
Go out of your head
think with the body instead…
Think, with your heat, with your soul, with your eyes, that can..
See all around, something is wrong
Stuck in their heads
Getting it wrong
Live in your body, stay in it now
You know you gotta live now, gotta live now
Gonna die, gonna die, got to live NOW
Back then, I wanted, to save the world
Played my records loud, dreaming, in back of a cloud
Those days, that music
could change the world
…Still is true, what good…music can do
Now I’m wiser, I paid my dues
I’m no longer, singing then blues
You’re sixty, your colors, look good on you
Need no, disco drugs,
Keep your, peace and love
Old, scraps of paper, coffee stained
A plan, fading with age
Turn that page, dream dream save..me
I had a job,
Starving my soul.
But then just like a long lost friend
I have a dream again
I will perform in the Songwriter’s Showcase at Luna’s in Sacramento July 18.
The event is from 3pm to 6pm…come see what freedom of expression can do for the soul.
These many gifted artists all in one place on one day–that is what I call Freedom!!! Happy Independence Month.

Happy to announce Sat. 8.15.15 from 6 to 8pm I will be sharing many new original songs (which I like to call boomer healers as they deal with getting older and growing up in the peace and love decades), as well as gems of the 60s and even some sing alongs.
The event will be at First Congregational Church of Auburn UCC. Beer, wine, snacks and soft drinks will be available, and there is a 10.00 suggested donation.
More details will be coming about this fun inspirational night of music. It is not religious but it is definitely spiritual. This church is loving and kind to all people and does not believe that anyone should be judged for who they are or choices they make.
